Getting to Burnsall



Getting to Burnsall on Public Transport.

There are trains to Ilkley and Skipton. There is then a bus service direct from Ilkley whilst if travelling from Skipton the 72 bus will take you to Grassington and then change for Burnsall.

Buses between Ilkley, Bolton Abbey, Burnsall, Grassington and Hebden in Wharfedale

Minibus 74A runs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between Ilkley, Bolton Abbey, Strid Wood, Appletreewick, Burnsall, Grassington and Hebden.

DalesBus 74 runs on Saturdays all year between York, Harrogate, Otley, Ilkley, Bolton Bridge and Grassington.

DalesBus 874 runs on Sundays all year between Wetherby, Leeds, Otley, Ilkley, Bolton Abbey, Strid Wood, Burnsall and Grassington (continuing to Kettlewell and Buckden).

DalesBus 875/876 runs on Summer Sundays and Bank holidays between York, Leeds, Horsforth, Ilkley, Grassington, Buckden and Hawes, but does not call at Bolton Abbey or Burnsall. (Summer 2025 service starts on 20th April 2025)

All single fares are no more than £3 (£1 for under 19s).
Please note that there are no buses on Tuesdays or Thursdays to Bolton Abbey, Appletreewick or Burnsall.

By Road

From Skipton – take the B6265 towards Grassington; after 6 miles turn right towards Linton and Burnsall. Go through Linton and turn right at the crossroads on to the B6160 towards Burnsall.

From Ilkley – leave Ilkley on the A65 towards Skipton. After 2 miles turn right towards Addingham then after a short distance turn right again on to Church Street. At the next T junction turn right on to the B6160 towards Bolton Abbey and Burnsall. Go through Bolton Abbey and on to Burnsall.

From Pateley Bridge – leave Pateley Bridge on the B6265 towards Grassington. After 7.5 miles turn left on to Hartlington Raikes (signposted Burnsall). After 1.5 miles turn right at the T junction towards Burnsall.
